Expository Essay: Behind the Beautiful Forevers

In a concise essay, describe the ways in which, despite living in a slum, the inhabitants of Annawadi have established their own quasi-society. For example, who holds power and influence? What are the measures of one's status? Who is at the top of Annawadi's social pyramid? Who is at the bottom? What are the commodities in which the Annawadians trade? And, who or what maintains a semblance order in this marginalized community? Cite specific evidence from Katherine Boo's Behind the Beautiful Forevers  to support your thesis.
